History of Magna Carta
The doors of U.S. Supreme Court are decorated with eight panels depicting seminal moments in legal history. One of them shows a cross-looking King John in a face-off with a determined baron who is leaning threateningly on his sword. Between them is a document onto which the king is pressing his seal. This is a representation of the making of Magna Carta. This year marks the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta. We celebrate the anniversary with two videos, one that provides a history of Magna Carta and the second one explains how the U.S. laws are derived from Magna Carta.

Early Act First Knight – The final knighting ceremony for the school year will be on Thursday May 28. We will begin at 
8:15 am for the lower grades and then follow with the older grades at 9:00 am.
Please let Carol or Brenda know if you can join them for these events. If you have never attended one, please do so! Seeing elementary children recite the Rotary 4 Way Test is unbelievably moving. This program is changing the children’s and their parents life, as well as impacting the school as a whole in a very positive way.
Pecan Springs will be hosting Reading is Fundamental the week of May 18-22. The theme will be DIVE into a Good Book. 
Some of these children just can’t believe they get to take a book – that is it theirs to keep!
