Rotary E-Club of District 5870 President’s Message

It is a privilege and an honor to serve as President for the Rotary E-Club District 5870. Our club was chartered in 2013 with 20 members who believed in the importance of providing different venues for Rotarians. Through technology we have created a unique Rotarian community. With members throughout our district and other parts of the nation, this technology allows us to join together in service to our community.

This year our Rotary International President Barry Rassin theme is “Be The Inspiration” for positive change through our work as Rotarians. I am reminded through the new vision statement that Rotarians “ see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves” that our club has worked diligently in our local and global community. It can be seen in our support of the New Manor Tech High School Interact, the Early Act First Knight activities at Pecan Springs Elementary School, RYLA and Rotaplast International in India and Central America. This shows the ways we believe that service above self is at the center of our club.

Our goal for this year is a net gain of two members. Our club provides an opportunity to be a Rotarian for those who cannot join clubs that meet in a traditional format every week. We will continue to support the Rotary International Foundation and our RECUSA Foundation. These foundations are key to the work we do all year long.

I am excited to be working with our members throughout this Rotary year as we support and develop new projects in our district, region and world communities. It is my goal to get to know each member and support his or her Rotarian goals. We will be working together to “Be The Inspiration” throughout this Rotary year.
